This summer while we were buying things for Amanda’s college dorm, we asked her if she wanted a television.   I knew she wasn’t a really huge fan of television at home, but I thought that once she was at college, she’d like to follow a few shows.  Instead, she asked if she could have a portable DVD player instead.    She loves movies and that is the one thing that she can’t seem to get enough of and said that if she had a portable DVD player she could keep it in the drawer beside her bed and that she could watch movies whenever she wanted.   She had a valid point, plus she also said that she could take the portable DVD player with her when she knew she’d have some extra time between classes and could watch part of a movie then if she chose to.   Again, she had a valid point so I told her yes.   I knew that I could get a portable DVD player online for a great price, so I found one that I knew she’d love and ordered it for her.   She’s used it all summer, plus took it with her to school.  It was a great investment.
