notebook computer, portable dvd playerAt the moment there is only one place in our apartment to play video games. This proves to be a problem because I’m the only one who likes playing video games. Last night, both my roommate and I stayed in instead of going out. I had work in the morning and he had to wait around for a person who never showed up to buy his phone. He left to go get food so I turned on the games. A couple of friends were playing and they wanted me to sign on. After doing so my roommate came home. He grabbed the notebook computer and started streaming episodes of Poker After Dark. Apparently his show took up enough bandwidth to slow my gaming down to a crawl. There was so much lag it felt like we had a 56k connection.

I couldn’t tell him to stop because I was hogging the living room. It would have been very nice to have a portable DVD player at that point. He could have watched a movie without interrupting my gaming. He quit streaming the notebook computer show after a while but it was just before I quit.
