Several days ago my husband was looking at our son’s Christmas list that’s taped to the fridge and he noticed that a portable DVD player was close to the top of the list.   He also wants a new game console, a notebook computer and several other pricy items, but sometime between now and Christmas we’ll have to narrow the list down because there’s no way that we can afford all of those items, even shopping online and getting great prices.   My husband asked if we were going to get Ryan the portable DVD player and I told him that I was actually leaning towards it because it’s something that could be so versatile and also possibly used by other members of the family.   He agreed.  I told him that the portable DVD player would be perfect for Ryan to watch movies when we were in the living room watching something else that he didn’t want to see.   After talking about it, we both decided that he will definitely find that under the tree this year, but of course we aren’t sharing that information with him.
