Taking Digital Camera Classes

For a while now, I've been taking a photography class on Saturday mornings, so that I could learn how to use the digital camera that my husband gave me for my birthday last year. My best friend has a digital camera, and she takes some of the most beautiful pictures I've ever seen, and while I think the talent lies in her, she swears that it isn't talent at all, but the digital camera. I will admit that I was thrilled when my husband gave me the digital camera, but I also had no idea how to use it. I wanted to learn how to use it and get the most out of the camera, and my best friend suggested that I take the classes that she took. I have to admit though, that I was a little embarrassed not too long ago when I went to class and was ready to take pictures with the digital camera and I saw that there was no memory card in my camera. I was ready to crawl under the table, because how was I going to learn to use the digital camera if I didn't have a memory card with me?

Needless to say, I ended up not learning much that day, but I did listen to what they had to say and tried to remember it for future reference. I did take a few notes, which helped, especially with my memory. They were talking about some of the more complicated settings on the digital camera, so taking notes is just what I needed. When I got home that day, I went online to see if I could find a memory card to go with my digital camera, so that I would not have that embarrassing moment again. I wanted to make sure that there was always an extra memory card in my camera bag, so I couldn't be without. I May Leave the Notebook Computer at Home

I’ve been trying to get some packing done for an upcoming extended vacation and I’m still trying to decide if I’m going to take the notebook computer. Since a majority of the time will be spent with family, I know that if I need to use a computer, I can always use the notebook computer that I found for mom online not too long ago. It would mean less to have to stuff in my carry on, plus it would be nice not to have to keep up with it. I just can’t decide. At least I have until the end of the week. I do have my digital camera charged and sitting in my carry on, plus I have the portable DVD player to use on the plane so that I don’t have to be stuck with watching the in flight movies. My husband gave me the portable DVD player for my 40^th birthday and I absolutely love it. At first I wasn’t sure, but it has been great when traveling via plane, or even in the car. Less than one week to go and we’re on our way!

Portable DVD Player Will Make the Perfect Gift

I’ve been trying to come up with the perfect gift idea for my husband this year for Christmas and I think I’ve finally done it. He loves movies and I thought that it would be great to get him a portable DVD player so that when he’s camping with the guys they can watch movies if they want. Right now the only place he can watch movies is in the living room but I thought if he had the portable DVD player he could watch them anywhere. He travels a lot with business and the portable DVD player would also give him something to do while flying across country. He always talks about how boring the in-flight movies are and this way he could take along the movies he wanted to see and play them on the portable DVD player. I’m sure it would make the flying time seem much shorter. This morning I found one that I think he’d like online for a really great price, so I think I’ll order it this week. I saved the page to my favorites and when I have a little more time I’m going to go back and get it. I know he’ll love it.

Digital Camera on Gift List for Christmas

With Christmas less than two months away, I should be in full swing with my shopping, but because I’ve been so busy planning a few other events happening locally I haven’t had much time to do any online shopping. Finally, last night I started making my lists with everyone’s name with the amount that I plan to spend out beside it so that I can start getting some ideas. My daughter has already asked for a digital camera, so buying for her should be pretty simple. She was also pretty specific as to what type of digital camera that she’d like, so I’ll find it online for the best price and place the order. My husband and son may be a little trickier because neither one of them have mentioned wanting anything. At this point I’ve added a portable DVD player to my son’s list, because I honestly think it is something that he’d really enjoy having. He loves watching movies and since he doesn’t have a television in his bedroom, I thought the portable DVD player would allow him the option of watching in other parts of the house or even outside. At least it’s a start, right?

Trip to Europe will be Complete with Portable Camcorder

My son and some of his friends are planning a trip to Europe next summer and mentioned that he’d like to have a portable camcorder. My husband and I thought about buying him a notebook computer to take along with him, but I find that it’s a little too much for him to be carrying around with him considering that they’re going to be traveling from one European city to another. We finally agreed that the best way for him to keep in touch would be to get an international calling plan with his cell phone, and then he could use the portable camcorder to record the events and adventure in each city. Several days ago I found a portable camcorder for a great price online and I ordered it for him. We’ll put it under the tree for him at Christmas, but I know he’s going to be excited about the possibilities of all that he can capture with the new camcorder. I admit to being a little jealous and wish that I was going along with them, but my husband said that he’d take me for our 20^th wedding anniversary which is only three years away.

We Both Agreed that the Portable DVD Player would Make a great Gift

Several days ago my husband was looking at our son’s Christmas list that’s taped to the fridge and he noticed that a portable DVD player was close to the top of the list. He also wants a new game console, a notebook computer and several other pricy items, but sometime between now and Christmas we’ll have to narrow the list down because there’s no way that we can afford all of those items, even shopping online and getting great prices. My husband asked if we were going to get Ryan the portable DVD player and I told him that I was actually leaning towards it because it’s something that could be so versatile and also possibly used by other members of the family. He agreed. I told him that the portable DVD player would be perfect for Ryan to watch movies when we were in the living room watching something else that he didn’t want to see. After talking about it, we both decided that he will definitely find that under the tree this year, but of course we aren’t sharing that information with him.

Could Use A Portable DVD Player Right Now

At the moment there is only one place in our apartment to play video games. This proves to be a problem because I’m the only one who likes playing video games. Last night, both my roommate and I stayed in instead of going out. I had work in the morning and he had to wait around for a person who never showed up to buy his phone. He left to go get food so I turned on the games. A couple of friends were playing and they wanted me to sign on. After doing so my roommate came home. He grabbed the notebook computer and started streaming episodes of Poker After Dark. Apparently his show took up enough bandwidth to slow my gaming down to a crawl. There was so much lag it felt like we had a 56k connection.

I couldn’t tell him to stop because I was hogging the living room. It would have been very nice to have a portable DVD player at that point. He could have watched a movie without interrupting my gaming. He quit streaming the notebook computer show after a while but it was just before I quit.

My Surround Speakers Compliment HDTV on NFL Sundays

If you were to really ask me, my HDTV LCD flat panel widescreen would never be the same to me without the awesome set of surround speakers that I have to compliment it with. I like to watch NFL on Sundays, and NCAAF on Saturdays, and my surround speakers really make that action come vibrantly to life. It is like every hit, every call, every tackle, every bone crushing run that is made on the TV comes out of my surround speakers, almost like the football field is right in my living room, and I am on the fifty yard line enjoying the intensity of it all. For me, there is nothing – well at least almost nothing – that compares to the mental thrills that I get from enjoy NFL Sundays on my HDTV, and with my surround speakers cranked to the max. I like to think that sometimes it is the smaller things in life that really make the world go around. For me, that happens to be my favorite of all weekend pastimes: Watching great football games with my best buddies!

Playing Games and Listening to Music on Surround Speakers

I walked in the house yesterday afternoon after spending some time at the beach with my new digital camera to find my home a complete mess. I knew as soon as I walked in the door and heard the loud sound of music coming from the surround speakers that my son was not only home, but that it looked as though he had a few friends over and they’d ripped through the house like a hurricane. I stood in the door for a little while to see if anyone would walk through the kitchen area, but after I saw no one, I went to the living room. The surround speakers were blaring, but there was no one in the living room and that left only one option- my son’s bedroom. Sure enough, I found all six of them in his room playing video games. I stood in the doorway about five minutes observing before anyone ever noticed me and then I asked if they’d seen the hurricane that blew through the house. My son looked a little embarrassed and they all started cleaning up, starting with turning the music down on the surround speakers.

Surround Speakers Wake Me Up

I don’t drink coffee. The caffeine factor seems great but the taste isn’t welcome on my taste buds. In the morning I roll out of bed and it is off to work. There is not much time to mess around because I silence my alarm until the very last second. My jolt of energy comes from surround speakers and music with a beat. There are so many amazing songs out there blending relaxing vocals with solids back beats. These are the tracks which help sweep the sleep out of my eyes. The surround speakers help a lot. The first part of my day starts in a home office.

Surround speakers around my seating area allows me to really hear the music without blasting it and waking up my roommates or neighbors. By the end of about 30 minutes of bobbing my head to a good song while working I’m awake. It is all about just getting over that first hump when the eyes want to close and my mind is telling me to get back into bed.

Not One Notebook Computer but Two

Several weeks ago my husband and I started having trouble with our PC and we decided rather than having it fixed that we would order a notebook computer. We had talked about getting a second computer for years but we never really wanted to spend the money and the PC worked well for us in spite of having to share our computer time. Rather than buying the first notebook computer that we saw for a good price, we decided to do some research and price comparison and came up with some pretty great deals. As it turned out I was able to get not one notebook computer but two for a little more than we would have paid for one at a store not far from our home. After talking about it, my husband and I decided that it would be worth our while to go ahead and order two. The price was right and this way we would both have a notebook computer to use and there would be no more shared computer time. The new computers arrived yesterday and so far we are both loving them.

The Notebook Computer was the Smarter Alternative

Several months ago, my husband and I decided it was time to trade in our larger computers and get a notebook computer for each of us. The idea was first sparked when our desktop computers were getting a little slow and we realized that we'd had them for more than six years. We had an entire room dedicated to computers and we both realized that if we each got a notebook computer we could transform that room into a home gym. We both became excited about the possibilities and I started looking for a notebook computer that was affordable. In the meantime we both started thinking about how we wanted to remodel the room, and the first thing we both agreed was that the carpet needed to come out of that particular room since carpet and sweat aren't the best of combinations. We also found some great exercise equipment online and made a list of all the things we wanted to order all while keeping an eye out for a good notebook computer.

I started using my digital camera to take pictures of how things looked so that I could carry the printed pictures with me and use them to help determine how things would go in the new room. While I was looking for an elliptical one night not too long ago, I came across a notebook computer that I knew would be perfect for us both. Surround Speakers Helpful During Exercise

Since my friend lent me a set of exercise DVDs, I’ve been taking time out to try the routines. The first week the DVDs sat next to the portable DVD player and collected dust. I felt bad when he asked what I thought of them and had to make up some story about how intense it is. This week I’ve moved the coffee table out of the living room and turned up the surround speakers for at-home exercise. Broken into 30-minute segments each video focuses on a different part of the body. Even the yoga section had me sweating. My surround speakers help. There is no escaping the instruction when the workout dude’s voice is coming out of 6 different speakers. It is tough stuff but I feel good afterwards.

At-home exercise saves money on gym fees. It does take some getting used to. I still feel weird following routines from a guy talking through my portable DVD player. Some of the exercises look really funny too. I’m just waiting for a roommate to come in and wonder what the heck I’m doing.

Yesterday I had one of those days when I really just needed to get away from everything and everyone. It seemed that it was one of those days where everything that can go wrong does, so I decided to take my notebook computer, grab a cup of coffee and go out into the back yard and sit for a while. I promised myself that when I opened the notebook computer I wouldn’t read any emails but instead I would spend some time reading articles or looking at things I enjoy. While I was sitting there unwinding, I remembered that I wanted to check on a portable DVD player to possibly take with us to the mountains for Thanksgiving. The cabin we are staying in doesn’t have a television and I thought having a portable DVD player would at least give us the option to watch a movie if we wanted to. I found several online for a good price, only I’m not sure which to order so I’ll leave that up to my husband. I bookmarked them all, and when we get a chance to sit down and talk about it, I’ll show him the ones I found and let him make the choice.

Managing Football Team on My Notebook Computer

This is only the second year I’ve played fantasy football and I call the first time a complete wash. Unorganized nonsense is a good way to describe how my initial experience with this notebook computer game turned out. Fantasy is only fun with the right players and constant management. It’s very easy to draft a terrible roster, miss out on important trades and start losing every single game. I don’t know about you but losing consistently in anything takes the fun out of it especially if there is no way to recover. That was last year. This year I spent a lot more time researching who could afford me the most points. Managing my team on the notebook computer so far is looking pretty good. Only have one problem.

Each player position in fantasy has a bye week where they can’t play. This forces users to have at least one backup for each position. My quarterbacks were supposed to be covered but both of them are showing bye weeks at the same time. My roster is full so it is trade time. I’ve been thinking about what to do long and hard before making a notebook computer decision.

Portable DVD Player was Great Investment

This summer while we were buying things for Amanda’s college dorm, we asked her if she wanted a television. I knew she wasn’t a really huge fan of television at home, but I thought that once she was at college, she’d like to follow a few shows. Instead, she asked if she could have a portable DVD player instead. She loves movies and that is the one thing that she can’t seem to get enough of and said that if she had a portable DVD player she could keep it in the drawer beside her bed and that she could watch movies whenever she wanted. She had a valid point, plus she also said that she could take the portable DVD player with her when she knew she’d have some extra time between classes and could watch part of a movie then if she chose to. Again, she had a valid point so I told her yes. I knew that I could get a portable DVD player online for a great price, so I found one that I knew she’d love and ordered it for her. She’s used it all summer, plus took it with her to school. It was a great investment.

Putting the Digital Camera to Good Use

I was so glad that I gave my niece a digital camera as a graduation gift, because now that she’s headed off to college, she’s getting a lot of use out of it. I thought when I found the digital camera online for a great price several months ago that it would be something for Michelle and after calling my brother to ask his opinion, he said he felt sure she’d love it. I knew that she’d be heading off to college later in the year, so I decided on ordering her the digital camera. She raved about it, but didn’t seem to use it much all summer long, but now that she’s arrived at college, she’d been putting the digital camera to use. She’s been posting pictures left and right on her favorite social networking site and it’s almost as though I’m there with her as she’s experiencing this new chapter in her life. She left me a note a few days ago thanking me again for the digital camera. I’ll admit that I look forward to checking out her page every day to see what kind of great things she’s come up with.

Surround Speakers Must Have When Watching Football

I have to come out and say this here, because for me I have found it to be absolutely true: surround speakers really do make football games that much more awesome than I ever thought when you are watching them on TV! I did not used to have the awesome and every capable surround speakers that I do now, but then one day I found this crazy cool deal on home theater surround speakers online that was far too great of a bargain to pass up on, and I joined the world of surround speakers lovers; finally! Now, not only do NFL games rock on my surround speakers—and I caught the first preseason game on Sunday, which pitted the Cowboys against the Bengals—and boy was that game just an overall blast to watch—but all things TV and movies are awesome on them, too. Perhaps the big hits made even more appealing with the thuds of my surround speakers bringing them to life is part of the deal. Or, maybe because I have been patiently waiting for the NFL season to commence for months now. Either way, football is here, and my surround speakers are ready!

He's Going to Love the New Portable DVD Player

I was so happy to see the delivery guy this morning knock on the door because I knew that meant that the portable DVD player that I’d ordered for my son had arrived. He had asked us if he could have a portable DVD player to take with him to college and even though his television has a built in player, I knew that having a portable DVD player would be something that he could use anywhere. I wouldn’t promise our son anything, but told him I’d see what I could find and my husband and I agreed when we found one well within our budget that we’d order the portable DVD player. I’ve been waiting impatiently for it to arrive and now that it has, I’ll call my husband and see if he wants to give it to him tonight or if he wants to wait until this weekend. He leaves for school in less than two weeks, so it couldn’t have arrived at a better time. Now I just need to get a few movies for him and he’ll be ready to go.

Portable Camcorder Charged for Race Day

The next best thing to racing motorcycles is watching professionals jockey tuned bikes around the track as if on rails. Doing is always better than watching unless watching the best of the best, which will soon be the case for me after buying tickets to a premier race that pits the best motorcyclists in the world against one another. Set at Laguna Seca in California, from what I’ve read there are going to be bike enthusiasts from around the world coming to the golden coast to root on their favorite riders. I’m going there without a favorite rider but with a sweet new portable camcorder found while shopping around The HITECH Section—found at http://www.thehitechsection.com if interested. What amazes me is how affordable high definition portable camcorders have become. It wasn’t that long ago that the only people who had access to such digital cameras worked in movie studios. As is the case with all commercial technologies, it evolved into consumer form at a price we all can afford.

So with general admission seating, the plan is to float around the course with a couple of buddies to see the race from all possible angles. Racing in the summertime is one of those things that just gives me goosebumps thinking about. This upcoming race features the best handful of riders from around the world. Like any sport, watching the best of the best is always a different experience then watching lower level leagues. I’ve been to a couple different races in tiers below this race league and it was awesome so I can’t wait to see the difference at this level. For one thing, I know that these racers actually slide their rear tires around turns just on the edge of washing out for faster entry and exit speeds. The goal is catching all this action on the portable camcorder. A couple of friends who enjoy this sort of thing too but can’t come will enjoy the footage. If nothing else, I’m going to archive it with the other folders of portable camcorder footage collected over the years. Saving memories in high definition is now possible for pretty much anyone interested. That is how far the digital camera has come.
